Our client, an academic publisher in Oxfordshire, has an exciting new opportunity for an Operations & Research Manager to join their Journals team, leading the delivery of Open Access.
Key duties:
Facilitate the delivery of Open Access under the direction of the OA Publisher
Manage the Open Access Coordinator and provide support to Editorial colleagues in launching and developing OA journals
Support the Sales team in developing OA sales deal models, implementing process and workflow changes as required
Establish and maintain relationships both internally and externally (funders, librarians, authors)
Contribute to the Open Access infrastructure and technology roadmap cross-departmentally
Build and share research into the OA landscape, key developments and competitor activity, reporting on current and future performance
Take part in technology projects to improve author, funder and librarian experiences

Experience / skills required:

Prior experience in Journal publishing and knowledge of Open Access is essential
Solid numerical skills and experience working with large amounts of data
The ability to read and interpret financial data
Strong time management skills and the ability to juggle a busy and varied workload
Excellent communication, negotiation and team-working skills
Commercial, industry and market awareness
