Job Description

A prestigious academic publisher based in Central London is looking for a Publishing Editor to join their Journal’s Editorial department for a period of 12 months. This is an excellent opportunity for an editorial professional to develop a high quality portfolio of Humanities and Social Sciences journals. 

Key duties:

  • Manage and develop an extensive list of HSS journals
  • Maintain and improve high educational and academic quality of the list
  • Work closely with colleagues in other departments to ensure that journals are produced, promoted and distributed appropriately and within budget
  • Proactively manage relationships with key partner societies and represent the company internally and externally as required
  • Liaise with journal editors and authors on the progress of editorial activities on their journals

Experience / skills required:

  • Solid editorial/production editorial experience within academic journals publishing
  • Proven experience of effectively managing a list of journals
  • Experience of working with academic authors, editors and professional societies
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and relationship management skills
  • Ability to manage multiple time-sensitive projects simultaneously
