Job Description
A trade publisher in Oxford is looking for an Senior Production Controller to join their friendly team working on both adult and children’s titles. Reporting to the Head of Production, this is a busy role, as you will be managing print titles from concept to delivery, across colour titles on their frontlist, reprints and co-editions. This is an exciting opportunity for someone with solid experience in 4 colour book production.

Key duties:
Oversee the smooth running of book production projects, from print buying to scheduling and delivery
Raise purchase and shipping orders accurately
Organise safety testing where needed
Liaise between printers, colleagues and suppliers to facilitate smooth running of projects 
Draw up accurate estimates for colleagues for quotations to specification and budget

Experience / skills required:
Must have solid previous production experience in book publishing, working on colour titles
Experience of end to end book production, including print buying and negotiating costs with printers/suppliers 
Ability to manage a busy and varied workload to keep projects on schedule and to budget
Meticulous attention to detail
Good IT skills
Knowledge of File Maker or IBS Book Maker desirable
A problem solver who can offer quick and creative solutions
