Job Description
Do you have an STM administrative background? We have a new opportunity for an Editorial Administrator to join a leading Scientific Society. You will play a vital role in providing support to the publications team with a range of administrative responsibilities.


Key duties:

  • Assist and organise editorial board meetings and conferences; including drafting paper and reports, minute taking, arranging venues, travel and accommodation
  • Updating the website, submission system and information pages
  • Select and promote content via social media and advertisements/info-graphics
  • Support the publisher in preparing and compiling reports and journal statistics
  • Administer the peer-review process for submitted manuscripts
  • Assist the Communications Manager to write press releases and identify articles suitable for press release
  • Investigate and log ethical issues related to the societies journals
  • General administrative duties
Experience / skills required:
  • Proven administrative experience, ideally within journals
  • Degree educated preferably in life sciences or equivalent
  • Experience in database and website updating/editing
  • Adept at minute taking and meeting preparation
  • Excellent computer literacy; Microsoft Office, Photoshop and/or InDesign
  • Social media management
