Are you a Senior Reporter or Deputy Editor with B2B experience? Are you keen to join a leading telecoms and data publication in central London? Our client is looking for a Deputy Editor to source engaging content for their print publication and online news website whilst managing a team of reporters. This is a great role for an all-rounder willing to learn and ready to step up to a managerial position.  Working very closely with the Editor, the successful candidate will be confident representing the brand at industry events.

Key duties:

  • Source exclusive news and write engaging content for print and online publication
  • Set up daily agenda for the website and support Editor in running meetings, set deadlines, ensure production on point, etc.
  • Help managing a team of reporters and commission freelance writers and designers
  • Ensure editorial strategy is consistent across the business
  • Conduct interviews with senior executives including TV interviews
  • Attend international events and moderate panels
  • Work with colleagues in other departments to support and promote brand

Experience / skills required:

  • Experience as a Senior Reporter or Deputy Editor in B2B publishing is required
  • Finance journalism knowledge, with understanding of financial terms and financial results, reports, etc.
  • Excellent flair for breaking news and strong sub-editing / proofreading skills
  • Solid organisation with the ability to prioritise and meet deadline whilst working under pressure
  • A strong communicator with a positive and collaborative approach to work
  • A confident attitude and the ability to deal with senior executives, chair panels and jump in front of the camera
  • Knowledge of TMT would be a bonus but is not required
